  • What is the Common Carrier Permit?
    • This permit allows common carriers to transport wine from direct wine shippers to Maryland consumers.
  • What are the responsibilities of the permit holder?
    • Common carriers must verify that wine deliveries are made to individuals aged 21 or older and file quarterly reports detailing deliveries.
  • How long is the permit valid?
    • The permit is valid for one year and must be renewed annually.
  • What is the fee for the permit?
    • The fee for the Common Carrier Permit is $50.00.
  • How long is the application process from start to finish?
    • An applicant can complete filling out the application form in 3-5 minutes.
    • Upon receipt of the completed application and required payment, the verification and determination on issuing said application may take 10-30 business days.
