ATCC Commissioner Updates

On July 1, 2024, we said farewell and thank you to ATCC Maryland Commissioner Barbara Wahl, RN, who served as ATCC vice-chair. Commissioner Wahl, who began her ATCC tenure in January 2021, is Chief Operating Officer with Concerted Care Group, a Mid-Atlantic provider of outpatient behavioral treatment to help individuals with substance abuse and mental health issues. Thank you, Commissioner Wahl, for your expert guidance and dedicated service to Maryland.

We are delighted to welcome Commissioner Dourakine Rosarion as the new Public Health Commissioner. She currently serves as Special Assistant to the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services for Montgomery County and brings a wealth of experience in public outreach and communication on key public health issues. Welcome, Commissioner Rosarion!

Congratulations, to Commissioner Eric Morrissette, who has been named Vice Chair. He joins Chair Alan Silverstein and Secretary Robert Poole in leading the Commission.

About the Commission: 

  • 5 Commissioners appointed for a 5-year term by the Governor of Maryland with the advice and consent of the Senate
  • 2 ex-officio members from the Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland State Police
  • Monthly, public, virtual meeting
  • ATCC regulates and oversees Maryland’s alcohol and tobacco industries and collaborates with the Maryland Cannabis Administration to manage the medical and retail cannabis sectors, particularly the unlicensed cannabis market.
